Over the last few days citizens have been receiving calls from subjects claiming to be Officers from the Social Security Administration, SSA. When they checked their caller ID, they saw the number was FVPD’s official business line (714) 593-4485. Please be aware subjects are masking themselves by using our business line, known as spoofing, in an attempt to gain personal information. This is a scam and citizens should NOT be providing personal information over the phone. Agencies such as the SSA or IRS will not call to request personal information over the phone. If anyone receives a call from our business line and doubt the authenticity of the caller, they should request to call the number back to verify the agency.
