This past week, September 18-22, the City of Fountain Valley proudly hosted the 2019 USAPA (Pickleball) West Regional at the Fountain Valley Sports Park. As a first time host, city staff enthusiastically welcomed over 1,100 Pickleball players as they battled it out in numerous divisions to see who would be crowned West Region Champion and earn a “Golden Ticket” to the USAPA National Tournament. As stated by USAPA Tournament Director Steve Sidwell, “1,100+ players, largest USAPA Regional ever, 4th largest pickleball tournament ever held in the world”, the City of Fountain Valley was proud to transition into “Pickle Valley” for five days in September! Thank you to all the participants, players, the USAPA, and city departments/staff who all pulled together to make this a memorable experience. Fountain Valley truly is, “A Nice Place to Play Pickleball!”
