On April 22, 2020, at approximately 0856 hours, FVPD and FVFD responded to a construction fire at Talbert and the 405 freeway. A portion of the bridgework was on fire and damaged several Edison utility poles and wires. FVPD evacuated residents of several homes on La Despensa and FVFD was able to extinguish the fire. There was no damage to any nearby residences and residents were able to return to their homes. There were also no reported injuries to residents or construction workers. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and is being investigated. Southern California Edison shut off power to the affected grid for safety precautions and technicians will be evaluating the damage to the utility poles. The site will be closed for an indefinite period of time so safety inspections can be conducted by the appropriate agencies. FVPD Incident #20-13004.
