The Community Services Department, in collaboration with Meals on Wheels OC, is providing over 1200 meals this week to support our senior community. This is an increase of approximately 400 meals over last week’s allocation. Seven (7) frozen meals are provided for seniors to pick up and take home weekly at the FV Senior Center at 17967 Bushard Street (corner of Bushard and Talbert). Pick up is on Thursdays from 11 a.m. till noon. Residents can sign up onsite if they had not previously registered with Meals on Wheels OC congregate meal program. Traditionally, Home-Delivered Meals on Wheels are intended for homebound older adults age 60-plus who are not able to cook for themselves. During the COVID-19 outbreak, Meals on Wheels is working with local cities to deliver frozen meals to the homes of older adults who do not have someone who can pick up meals for them at the Senior Center.
