The I-405 Improvement Project will reopen Slater Avenue Bridge on August 29 to vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Surrounding work will be ongoing for landscaping after the bridge is open. That same night of the opening of Slater Avenue Bridge, Talbert Avenue and Bushard Street Bridges will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic in preparation for demolition and reconstruction. Utility relocation has been ongoing for these bridges for the last few weeks. Slater will be open to all traffic at approximately 12:00 amBushard Street Bridge – closed for approximately 1 yearTalbert Avenue Bridge – closed for approximately 1 yearTalbert Bridge:Beginning approximately, 9:00 pm on Thursday, August 29, the Talbert Avenue Bridge will be closed to all traffic for a period of approximately 1 year. During this time, access to the SB I-405 on ramp at Talbert will be available for the next several months until toward the end of the bridge reconstruction. At that point the on ramp will be closed for approx. six weeks to allow for the tie-in of the ramp to the new bridge and street improvements. Once complete, Talbert will be widening to provide for three lanes in each direction as well as shoulders and standard sidewalks. During the 1 year closure, access to/from Talbert will be maintained to adjacent properties such as the Claim Jumper commercial center, the LA Fitness/Black Angus center and Mike Thompson RV Trailer.Bushard Street Bridge:Beginning approximately 9:00 pm onThursday, August 29, the Bushard Bridge will be closed to all traffic for a period of approximately 1 year. The improvements do not include any additional travel lanes (still two in each direction) but do include standard width sidewalks and bike lanes on both sides as well as a wider striped median for better separation of traffic.
